2119:Outlaws is an science fiction action drama film, set in a future-dystopian cyberpunk Malaysia in the year 2119. The story follows a pair of dauntless twins trapped in the slums of poverty. Amelia and Aiden will fight in order to survive and get out of the ruthless and cold-blooded slum.

small matter, BIG ISSUES

2119 has been a passion project of ours since 2014. It goes way back in the time where gear and equipments are not as accesible as we have now. Fast forward to 5 years later, that passion project is now coming to a reality. 2119: Outlaws is a story that explores the under-lying issues of our current society.

We would like to use film as a medium to voice out our concerns on several matters such as social class, justice systems, technology advancements, overpopulations and politcal and socialogy problems.

The World of 2119

None of us can be sure how Malaysia is going to look like in 2119. That's what makes us so excited to make this film as well. Malaysia has come a long way since it's independent in 1957. We would love to explore the possiblities of how the Malaysia is going to look like 100 years from now. On the other hand, what we'll be exploring is not just on the surface. What happens now is bound to happen in the future as well. What would Malaysia politics be 100 years later? What kind of change would Malaysia go through with the global economical and political pressure that's going on around the world? That is a question to think about.

We need your help to make the film

Making a film is not easy, and it's not cheap either. Of course, we could get a Canon 600D and shoot run and gun. But we would like to take this opportunity to make a film where it can travel around the world and show the colors of Malaysian cinema. This is not just about making a final year project, it's about showing world that we're bringing Malaysian cinema to a whole new level. Most importantly, we're hoping to inspire young filmmakers to tackle niche genres in Malaysia cinema.

Dinesh Ramachandran - Producer

Dinesh is a hard working, honest individual. Always willing to learn new skills. He friendly, helpful and polite with a good sense of humor.

Ismail Arjunaidy - Director

Ismail is an aspiring filmmaker who love making films especially action. Visionary visual storyteller who will entertain the audience.

Lijie Chua - Cinematographer

Born and raised in Malaysia, Lijie Chua is an up-and-coming cinematographer and filmmaker from Multimedia University Nusajaya who loves the process on visualize storytelling through blocking and underlying emotions of the characters to the camera movement. Followed by a discussion with different Directors on cameras and cinematography basics, Chua always like to take them through the blocking stage with reference lighting to achieve a consistency looks with director.

Ryan Yeo - Writer, Editor

Ryan is a highly creative individual with the ability to innovate visuals captured through the lenses of camera. He has proven his ability to create strong, impactful visuals. Ryan has worked with several industry artist such as Christopher Lee, Angelica Lee, Hasnul Rahmat, Amerul Affendi and so on. He will be editing 2119 with his distinctive, precise cuts.
